Vectorman was one of the games I met a certain time I rented 6 games at once , as a gift from my mother , in my valuable 14 years. Along with it , I found Beyond Oasis too, but that is for another review .

Vectorman , before anything else , is a beautiful game to look at, has great lighting effects , shadow and great animations both for Vectorman as enemies and scenarios .

The game is very colorful , but not so easy. You gonna grieve if you want to reach the end of the game, because the stages are huge and full of enemies waiting for you .

Some of them take almost ten minutes to be explored and past , since the scenarios hide many items ( arranged in monitors usually stuck on walls ) , and many of them are precious lives or more powerful weapons .

Our green robot can equip several different shots , and turn into other things , depending of the stages, as a useful bomb to open a passage , a swimmer reptile, a dancer ball , and so on. .

The transformations of Vectorman help to give a good balanced in gameplay, which ultimately not only summarizing the game to jump and shoot all the time.

The music and sound effects are great, a true neat of Sega, as was customary at the time.

Vectorman is a game that should be enjoyed by everyone, because, besides being a great  fucking game, is a fine example of the Mega Drive had a lot of power hidden where only the masters could find.

A lilting, beautiful game, with reasonable difficulty, and shooting.

Sure, a lot of people who do not know may be surprised with the game.

Last Battle is based on  HOKUTO NO KEN ( yes Ryu ) , released only on Japan . Because of copyright that Westerners not have ( so you can see the mess of Sega ) , the game had to change the name, change the characters and suffer a damn censorship just to be able to release on our land.
In this scheme, Kenshiro is now called Aarzak and the whole guys of anime changed of names too. The censorship was due to the nonexistent blood in this version.

In the game we control Aarzak, he need to beat a crowd for some reason I'm sure that the anime can explain, since I do not know. It is basically a game of street fighting, but in different streets and side-scrolling, unlike Streets of Rage.

Aarzak has kicks and punches at the disposal, and even has a power bar that I could not fill, but must release a typical power of Japanese cartoons.

The game follows a very small map , like a board game, where each stage has a drawing of a city in ruins . I died on the first boss and quit.

Funny that, at the time I rented, I was fucking away, but never finished this fucking game. The game has good controls, cool sounds, but his very repetitive.

If you're a fan of anime, play without fear, but take the japonese version, because you will become angry with this.

The Chaos Engine

The Chaos Engine

Year: 1993

Who did:

Genre: Shooter

________________________________________________

Chaos Engine is a shooter seen from above, like Mercs, with possibility to choose between several characters to go killing enemies and collecting money.
The game takes place in different regions, from cities to swamps, sewers and wtf,  unfortunately is so hard I could barely reach the third stage.

In the U.S. this game is called SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE.

What happens is this: the player chooses his character and another to help because the game is only playable in two, either a friend or the CPU controlling your partner. The goal is go killing and collecting items and keys to go his way until the end of the stage.

The characters are very varied, ranging from the mutant hunters, warriors and other beasts (you can see the cover), all crazy for money. The game plot is bizarre, something that involves genetic mutations and a bizarre creation of European government.

The game has a tremendous depth, with solid control and a nice gameplay to play.

One thing that was lacking was shoot and walk at the same time, but nothing that can steal the fun provided by the game.

At the end of each stage you can buy new items, improve weapon, buy life and energy, and so on, all using the money from the slaughtered enemies in stages.

If you play with a friend, the fun is even greater.

Recommended!

I will speak the truth: Bubsy is not a game 100% bad ! I'd say about 90% it is gloomy, and the rest, bad.

But I will explain: Bubsy tries to be several characters at once, but his greatest shamelessness is to be a clone of Sonic. It combines speed, stages with descents and ascents and collectible items (balls of wool), but the technical part of the game ended up getting behind. I know that my friends loves that stuff, but I need to tell the truth about this dirty game: if not for the damn control over the cat, it would have fared much better.

I do not know, it seems that there is some strong wind when you jump high and attempts to maneuver the orange pussy. The cat squirms, the screen changes of position and the player gets lost then motherfucker on Mother's Day, even fall into motherfucker enemy and die . For this reason, won the affectionate nickname Bugsy.

Luckily, there are shirts with lives everywhere, which should extend slightly sordid experience that is playing Bubsy.

 Bloodthirsty Fighting

Mortal Kombat can be defined as the ogrish fighting games at the time it was released. You not know what is ogrish? Google! : D!

In it, we choose an ordinary between 7 warriors to fight to the death in arenas of Outworld. Many would say at the time: "ah, the Street Fighter is like that and has more faces." Yes, but in Street Fighter  you can not tear opponent's head with your spine, can you?

Yeah, MK inaugurated a new  fighting game style, where we give the famous FATALITIES on the enemies when the fight ends. Or not, if the player not knows to make the damned. Each fighter, has in his list of cuts, one special to be given to hear the famous phrase "FINISH HIM / HER": the coup usually  cut into pieces, beheads, scorch or kill the enemy ^ ^!

The characters range from noble maidens as Sonya to playboys like Johnny Cage and ninjas such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Each of them eventually becoming single, which came to spread fame  even more of violent on the game.

Released numerous versions for different systems, but the most famous were in the Mega Drive and SNES, with subtle graphical differences between the two (the sound on the SNES is very good, while in Mega ... well ....).

It is a violent game? Yes, of course,  but for today's standards, is more for a walk in the park.

Still, MK is still a great franchise, moreover, he is just another franchise that has not quite hit the hand after the third game.

Final Score: 6.0

Retro Treasures - Spiderman the Videogame (Arcade)

Our third treasure comes straight from Arcades, a game made by Sega with one of the most popular Marvel characters. I'm sure many here have ever seen or played it in the 90s!

Spiderman: The Videogame

Year: 1991

System: Arcade

Players: Up to 4

By: SEGA

For many years I kept an image in mind: a  spiderman game  where  there were more 3 characters and was a street fighting. Until I figure out MAME and find the hidden game on the internets!
Spiderman is not a bizarre videogame and wonderful at the same time without reasons: first, it was made by SEGA, Sega our nostalgic past, the company, which touched turned to gold. Second, a fighting game with the spiderman, the buddy neighborhood, sharing space with 3 more colleagues to put the Kingpin, Venom and his cronies to run out of the city. Third, is a fighting game with big characters on screen and that mixes parts of side-scrolling platform too!
For these reasons, the project was a success at the time, but was soon overtaken by other arcades of success too, and unfortunately he fell into obscurity. UNTIL NOW!

We can play with 4 characters: SpiderNamorBlack Cat and ArcherEach of them .... does the same thing than the other! Yeah, there are few differences , but I noticed that the Black Cat is a bit faster for combing than the others. Are just 2 buttons: one to jump and one to beat . Using the two together , your character gives a special power , which obviously consumes energy. That this energy is counted by points , not by a bar .

The game follows the outline of the existing beat'n ups : Follow beating everyone by streets , alleys , BUILDINGS , AIRSHIPS , MOUNTAINS, PARKS .... is the variety of scenery here is truly enormous .
The enemies are varied , especially the chiefs , ranging from the obvious Venom to  Doctor Doom among others .
Graphics that resemble the comics give charm to the game , with good music and decent sound effects. It's a rare game to find, but thanks to the current emulation, at any  worth site you can find the rom . And even though it exists : if you try to play an arcade there , take a lot of money , because the game is fucking hard !

Not only talking about of fighting stages, but the steps in scroll  involve jumps and synchronized attacks to avoid the losing of precious lives.

Anyway, it's a WHORE rox arcade  with Spider that many people even know about, or if you know, just forgetting over time.

Comix Zone

________________________________________________

SEGA really had much potential in this time. Just browse the Mega Drive games to confirm this easily. And Comix Zone is just one more.

A solid game with addictive gameplay, a different and creative art, enemies and fuckin' decent stages and a difficulty between FUCK  and MORE STILL FUCK, and  causing tremor in whom challenged his comics.

Comix Zone tells the story of SKETCH, who was a designer, and then a so badly guy he drew came to life, came out of comics and trapped him inside. Conclusion: you'll have to go killing and passing each of the challenges that the boss will DRAWING during such stages. And you can see the hand of the son of a bitch making enemies, scratching passages, blocking the easiest paths and so on. Creative, is not it?

Yeah , the game is still a fighting game. Sketch is only a pussie name, because he hits very much on the enemies  that comes from the bunch to kill him.

Many times you get lost , because as a comic book , in every stage  you need to go changing of comic to proceed , as if it were a story , sometimes resulting in traps or more complicated ways .

Many times you avoid some enemies , find a passage with items and other things .

Sketch is not alone in this : Alyssa is a girl that is communicating with him , giving tips and warning him about the dangers and enemies scattered throughout the stories .

Another  Sketch partner is your mouse Roadkill , which has much use in the game , finding hidden items on the pages  and opening passages for Sketch , due to its size .

Comix Zone is one of the most creative works from Sega , a shame really have not had continued .
Some time ago , an outline of what would Comix Zone 2 painted on the net , and it would be for the deceased Saturn :

Sometimes it's good not to have released it .... or not.
