I will speak the truth: Bubsy is not a game 100% bad ! I'd say about 90% it is gloomy, and the rest, bad.

But I will explain: Bubsy tries to be several characters at once, but his greatest shamelessness is to be a clone of Sonic. It combines speed, stages with descents and ascents and collectible items (balls of wool), but the technical part of the game ended up getting behind. I know that my friends loves that stuff, but I need to tell the truth about this dirty game: if not for the damn control over the cat, it would have fared much better.

I do not know, it seems that there is some strong wind when you jump high and attempts to maneuver the orange pussy. The cat squirms, the screen changes of position and the player gets lost then motherfucker on Mother's Day, even fall into motherfucker enemy and die . For this reason, won the affectionate nickname Bugsy.

Luckily, there are shirts with lives everywhere, which should extend slightly sordid experience that is playing Bubsy.

Mortal Kombat can be defined as the ogrish fighting games at the time it was released. You not know what is ogrish? Google! : D!

In it, we choose an ordinary between 7 warriors to fight to the death in arenas of Outworld. Many would say at the time: "ah, the Street Fighter is like that and has more faces." Yes, but in Street Fighter  you can not tear opponent's head with your spine, can you?

Yeah, MK inaugurated a new  fighting game style, where we give the famous FATALITIES on the enemies when the fight ends. Or not, if the player not knows to make the damned. Each fighter, has in his list of cuts, one special to be given to hear the famous phrase "FINISH HIM / HER": the coup usually  cut into pieces, beheads, scorch or kill the enemy ^ ^!

The characters range from noble maidens as Sonya to playboys like Johnny Cage and ninjas such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Each of them eventually becoming single, which came to spread fame  even more of violent on the game.

Released numerous versions for different systems, but the most famous were in the Mega Drive and SNES, with subtle graphical differences between the two (the sound on the SNES is very good, while in Mega ... well ....).

It is a violent game? Yes, of course,  but for today's standards, is more for a walk in the park.

Still, MK is still a great franchise, moreover, he is just another franchise that has not quite hit the hand after the third game.

Final Score: 6.0

Retro Treasures - Spiderman the Videogame (Arcade)

Our third treasure comes straight from Arcades, a game made by Sega with one of the most popular Marvel characters. I'm sure many here have ever seen or played it in the 90s!

Spiderman: The Videogame

Year: 1991

System: Arcade

Players: Up to 4

By: SEGA

For many years I kept an image in mind: a  spiderman game  where  there were more 3 characters and was a street fighting. Until I figure out MAME and find the hidden game on the internets!
Spiderman is not a bizarre videogame and wonderful at the same time without reasons: first, it was made by SEGA, Sega our nostalgic past, the company, which touched turned to gold. Second, a fighting game with the spiderman, the buddy neighborhood, sharing space with 3 more colleagues to put the Kingpin, Venom and his cronies to run out of the city. Third, is a fighting game with big characters on screen and that mixes parts of side-scrolling platform too!
For these reasons, the project was a success at the time, but was soon overtaken by other arcades of success too, and unfortunately he fell into obscurity. UNTIL NOW!

We can play with 4 characters: SpiderNamorBlack Cat and ArcherEach of them .... does the same thing than the other! Yeah, there are few differences , but I noticed that the Black Cat is a bit faster for combing than the others. Are just 2 buttons: one to jump and one to beat . Using the two together , your character gives a special power , which obviously consumes energy. That this energy is counted by points , not by a bar .

The game follows the outline of the existing beat'n ups : Follow beating everyone by streets , alleys , BUILDINGS , AIRSHIPS , MOUNTAINS, PARKS .... is the variety of scenery here is truly enormous .
The enemies are varied , especially the chiefs , ranging from the obvious Venom to  Doctor Doom among others .
Graphics that resemble the comics give charm to the game , with good music and decent sound effects. It's a rare game to find, but thanks to the current emulation, at any  worth site you can find the rom . And even though it exists : if you try to play an arcade there , take a lot of money , because the game is fucking hard !

Not only talking about of fighting stages, but the steps in scroll  involve jumps and synchronized attacks to avoid the losing of precious lives.

Anyway, it's a WHORE rox arcade  with Spider that many people even know about, or if you know, just forgetting over time.

SEGA really had much potential in this time. Just browse the Mega Drive games to confirm this easily. And Comix Zone is just one more.

A solid game with addictive gameplay, a different and creative art, enemies and fuckin' decent stages and a difficulty between FUCK  and MORE STILL FUCK, and  causing tremor in whom challenged his comics.

Comix Zone tells the story of SKETCH, who was a designer, and then a so badly guy he drew came to life, came out of comics and trapped him inside. Conclusion: you'll have to go killing and passing each of the challenges that the boss will DRAWING during such stages. And you can see the hand of the son of a bitch making enemies, scratching passages, blocking the easiest paths and so on. Creative, is not it?

Yeah , the game is still a fighting game. Sketch is only a pussie name, because he hits very much on the enemies  that comes from the bunch to kill him.

Many times you get lost , because as a comic book , in every stage  you need to go changing of comic to proceed , as if it were a story , sometimes resulting in traps or more complicated ways .

Many times you avoid some enemies , find a passage with items and other things .

Sketch is not alone in this : Alyssa is a girl that is communicating with him , giving tips and warning him about the dangers and enemies scattered throughout the stories .

Another  Sketch partner is your mouse Roadkill , which has much use in the game , finding hidden items on the pages  and opening passages for Sketch , due to its size .

Comix Zone is one of the most creative works from Sega , a shame really have not had continued .
Some time ago , an outline of what would Comix Zone 2 painted on the net , and it would be for the deceased Saturn :

Sometimes it's good not to have released it .... or not.

Road Rash has always been synonymous of FIGHTING in motorway with right to mess the opponent.

Since its launch, the series has conquer many fans all over the world, especially when kept exclusive on Mega Drive. Of 3 versions of Mega Drive, the best, in my opinion, is the second, but the first game is pretty cool too.

The goal is to run, fuck and beat. Run for wins, fuck to destroy and win to earn money. A simple formula and that no one had thought of doing.

The IEI has created here one of the most memorable racing games of all time: we have guns to steal the bastards that run against us, we have to buy bikes and .... is, we do not have to buy bikes here ... but we have many tracks to race. AND ALSO HAVE NO WAY TO PLAY WITH SPLIT SCREEN WITH A FRIEND! ¬ ¬!

It is, after this shit, the game is worth it until today.

There are 5 tracks to race and 5 levels I believe  : every time you win the 5 tracks, moves to another level and the tracks become larger and the enemies become more faster, like all Road Rash.

Cool sounds, but I prefer the songs of 2 and 3. The graphics system is that classic of Drive / SNES, nowadays the 3D effects is poor, but nostalgic and very cool for past times.

Anyway, Road Rash is game for bold, with a marked difficulty, which deserves to be explored to the end!

Retro Treasures - Master of Darkness (Master System)

Our second game of Retro Treasures section, will talk about a game that perhaps some even know or consider to be similar to its source of inspiration: Castlevania for NES.

The game suffered the same ill of other relics: little publicity, which meant that many people even know about this game...

Master of Darkness

Genre: Plataform

Year:
 1992

System:
 Master System

By:
 SEGA

Players: 1

Master of Darkness can easily be considered the Castlevania of Master System for obvious reasons. Besides having a protagonist who uses several types of weapons, we have a final boss identical to the Konami series: Count Dracula.

                                                              stabbing a poor passer

In this game, we control Dr.Social. Maybe he has that name to have many friends, or not. The important thing is that Dr Social's mission is to solve the mystery that surrounding the city of London: strange deaths are happening and nobody knows why. Dead bodies appear almost no drop of blood, almost every morning. Then, comes into play an undercover cop, who will try all ways to end these deaths KILLING the main culprit. Beautiful, no? : D!

The game starts mild: Social runs to any port city, at night, which gives up to feel the cold wind and cloudy weather of place. Your only weapon is the beginning is a simple knife that will serve well to find other, like a hammer, swords and even guns. In case firearms here serve as a secondary item, increasing its capacity when found more often (aka knives, axes, holy water in Castlevania).

Incidentally, speaking of items, we have several here that are reference in the Konami game:

  • diamond: serves to clean the screen, our beloved and famous button AUTOMATIC-FUCK;
  • potion: usually found inside walls, has the function of chicken in Castlevania;
  • weapons: are inside of floating masks, similar to the torches / lamps shades of Castlevania games;

So, for all of these "coincidences" Master of Darkness can call a mere poorly clone of Castlevania ? NO!

The game may even have copied a straight face (almost all) elements, but, in my opinion and a lot of people too, is the best Castlevania ''clone'' ever made.

The only thing you can not really understand is why cocks Sega did not continue this game in Master or Genesis, as it goes very well technically. Sega would have been under pressure from Konami?

wraiths are part of cast

Master of Darkness in the technical sector is nearly flawless: it is easy to control your character, attack, turn, jump and shoot. Enemies are well varied and the stages are also pretty cool, with great graphics and a good soundtrack , which further fuels my question about a continuation of the game.

Well, as never existed continuation, then we have a rare gem, which blatantly copied Castlevania and brought to Master System owners a beautiful plaything in the land of Dracula.

You must see!

Sonic The Hedgehog

___________________________________________________________________

What to say about this classic? There is not much to be said but, to be PLAYED.

Sonic came from the creative mind of Yuji Naka, also responsible for Ristar (another Drive's classic) and this almost took the place of our beloved hedgehog.

In Sonic, we control Sonic. Do not believe? See the pictures to prove!

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD !

FINALLY, Sonic has eternal quest to destroy Robotnik (Eggman) and save all their friends of forest  that were made SLAVES and transformed into robots by the terrible sick mind of the  mtfk potbellied fat.

Music, graphics, sounds, enemies, friends, stages, everything here is immaculate and still managed to get better with time. By the end of Drivo, from then on the thing fell apart so much that even Sonic, only in the Mega. The rest is extra with the same name as the classic.

In the game, in addition to saving the animals, the player can (and should) find the 7 sacred emeralds, which will allow to see a different ending. They are the famous BONUS STAGES, which can be accessed when you finish the level with at least 50 rings and enter in the  big ring at the  end.
Well, having said all this, there is not MUCH more to say, just PLAY. If you do not know, never heard or hate Sonic, die.

Final Score: 10

MEGA DRIVE ERA - DEBUT: Altered Beast

You guys are seeing this nifty banner  up there? Yeah, it was done by me. And you know what that banner  means? YES, Eras returned to the air! Who knows the old fotolog will remember, and those who do not know, will get to know the famous ERAS, are periods where only the games of particular system are posted in the form of reviews.

I decided to change to the ERAS now, before they accumulate many reviews and end up getting a little disjointed.  Because only 1 or 2 games of each system was reviewed, it becomes easier to open the Eras now than later.

Therefore, the MEGA DRIVE ERA will have only games of him, our homesick DRIVE. Sure, Retro Treasures, Worst Games and Retrothroughs continue with the system of choice of games, as well as some new sections that should debut later.

The review will attempt to be DAILY, ie one per day, as of old. The email to send texts remains the same also: lumuru11@gmail.com! Not have .UK!

As for the other games  non-drive already reviewed, will be in the original folders for now, until their ERAS start too.

So, enough of the bullshit and let's start this SAGA, because there are MANY Mega games to be reviewed and / or acquaintances.

With you, our official rookie (sorry Streets of Rage), ALTERED BEAST!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Lupin's Review ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIISEEEE FROM IOUR GREIVEEEEEEE !!!!!

Yeah, the ghouls are loose and promise adventures in the midst of so much good confusion for a dog! The Altered Beast arrived at  Mega Drive in early of his life (the console ¬ ¬), from the dusty arcades by Sega.

The game is a action platform with blows into zombies and other MYTHICAL creatures,  as griffins, winged beings, pumped women with  Baraka's face, and so on.

Controlling a CENTURION with the mission to rescue the Zeus daughter (or whoever the old man of opening), you will have to prove to be  MALE to be able to kill the demonic demons of each stage.

At first, you turned into a werewolf, which gives Hadoukens and uses an air and ground dash.

In the second stage, a cool dragon to destroy a plant full of flying eyes that clog the screen.

Third stage: a bear blows and turns to stone the gang of evil and, finally, the tiger,  who loves to get in love while the others  have sex with GANA.

The game is good, with automatic scrolling, which requires you to be fast if you want to catch the  ORBS and transform.  These orbs are in possession of DOGS OF TWO HEADS, but only WHITES have . The Browns are only there to toast.

Before killing the monsters, you first have to pick 3 ORBS. The first is just to rip the shirt, the second turns you on Arnold Schwarzenneger and the third UUUUUUHLLLLL!

After all this salad, what's left is a game that sickens fast, although that version of Mega still have an option whether to play two. In Master, not even that.

Cool sounds, especially when you're transformed: an edgy rock, the former fat NiƱo of Mega Drive  expertly transformed into METAL! \, /?
