Retrothrough Powerblade NES [1] - by Lupin

Debuting the new blog section, designed to COMPLETED WALKTHROUGHS, with the affectionate name of RETROTHROUGHS, the game PowerBlade, for NES.

POWERBLADE - NES1991, Taito
By: Lupin

Storyline

PowerBlade serves well to be a  80's movie of Schwarzenegger: the main character looks like a Schwarzenegger, the story looks like a Schwarzenegger movie, the year of the game is in the future as in the films of Schwarzenegger and the stages has everything to do with ... Schwarzenegger!

In the game we control NOVA (not Schwarzenegger ¬ ¬), a guy who lives in the year 2191 (far away!). The world panics after the central computer that controls everything collapses. Nova is scheduled to take a way in the  crap, but need to go find the agents in six different places in the city.

It is they who protect the entrance to the central computer. The contacts are: John Gordon, Robert Williams, David Straker, Linda Baker, Douglas Martin and Daniel Leeds.

Each of them has an ID Card, required to enter the industry security  there and solve the problem. Each sector has a tape, the important thing is to get out of there alive with this tape before everything explode. Will only be able to enter the central computer after finding the 6 tapes in 6 stages of the 6 sectors with 6 agents.

Nova has a weapon, at least curious: A BOOMERANG, which can even to  be UPGRADED, causing irreversible damage to the tail of the enemy. Enemies that indeed are MANY!

Well, we already know the story, we know who we play, then it's time to go straight to the game.

Map of trouble

The little map is shown every time  you get in one sector: are 6, each with several different themes and areas (industry, sky, swamp, and so on).

Stages can be chosen without any order, but I will follow the exact order of the same, as it is easier ^ ^!

HUD

ENEMY - boss energy;
PLAYER - NOVA'S energy;
POWER boomerang attack power, which can be increased by finding STARS or enemies, increases the distance that your boomerang reaches;
Grenades: press SELECT to use, gives a good clean in the scene;
Lifes;
Time;
4 Armor: in some stages (almost all, to tell the truth), there is a secret armor (sometimes two), which will give to Nova more attack power, but it is also more vulnerable;

When you pause, we have a few more things to be shown:

1 - Sectors on alert: stages that are missing to be overcome;
2 - Food: serves to replenish NOVA'S energy, but comes in place of the grenade to be chosen - press SELECT ;
3 - tapes that still remain to be collected;

Well, known the intricacies of the game, get to work!

First Part: Sector 1

The first section of the game, as well as all FIRST STAGE in most games,  serves to the player to get used to the commands, jumps, attacks and enemy types. Earlier, go up the stairs and kill the plant on the top screen (be careful, because the damn vomits RED BALLS).

Further, comes the first boring enemy of the game, found in virtually in ANY stage: a contraption that slides faster on the ground when NOVA touches. It's more or less, like those spikes  sliding across the floor in Megaman: the difference is that this shit, of surprise, gets up and shoots. Always try to slow it down with boomerangs.
Needless to say he is only hited when standing up ... Go ahead and go down the stairs.
Let's go out in the hallway of the first screen, only the LEFT side. Kill the cyborgs and go down the stairs again. Some flying enemies will appear: they resemble much of the MEDUSAS in the Castlevania because fly the same way. On the outside, kill fast the FLYING ENEMY, before he shoots his homing missiles.

Going up the stairs after the spikes, do not go on top: fall on the floor of the LEFT side and grab the armor there. Go back, and now, go up the stairs directly.

Kill the flying bastard  away and go to RIGHT, climbing the stairs there. The first agent will welcome you with open arms.

Just a reminder: you only enter the boss door when you pick up the ID Card with these guys, ie,  will have to roll the stage to find these agents.

If you have the card, go back down the stairs (do not fall that way, because you die - NOVA has the complex of Megaman and Castlevania: dies in spikes and these falls) and climb the other side now. Go straight up, including the second ladder.

Kill the nozzles where enemies come out, turn it up and down the stairs AGAIN.

On the way down, if need be, go up the first flight of stairs and collect OTHER armor. Down,  is  good idea to use a grenade and clear the enemies coming from below. Remember, if you  contact with spikes, even armor, you killed instantly and have to return everything since from beginning of the stage.

Kill the cannons and jumping carefully on moving platforms.

Downstairs, take the ramp up and go eliminating the robots and bats (!) There, if  you have the armor is one shot to go clearing the enemies.

The final hallway is filled with those  ceiling cannons and some pink-monkeys-robots-sons-of-bitches, be careful, for not lose the fucking armor here (I missed ¬ ¬).

Arriving on the door, if you have done everything right, the door opens and the first boss will jump in your lap!

Boss

It's a big robot, just shoot without stopping on the bastard before he kills you. He even has the nerve to use a fucking shield, shoot further and annihilate this bastard.

Killing him, Nova can get on the computer and disarm the Sector 1.
Stage  successfully completed^ ^!
